365-14

I received a reversing ring, that I plan on using with my Takumars, in the mail today. Just trying some macros around the house. Too lazy to set up a tripod (which now I realize will be necessary), I was using high ISO settings in the low light. The colors were in this shot of a fork but I added multiple texture…

A rural looking winter scene today. It’s actually beside a fairly well traveled road. There’s no where to pull over so I had to stop, shoot, and go. I originally was thinking this as a black and white with texture but I liked the colors better. I used some slightly modified Shadowhouse Creations textures. Pentax K20D, DA17-70 The Rising

A pretty straightforward shot today of a nice winter scene. I saw these brightly colored houses previously and thought they would make a nice photo. Simple processing with PSE6. I tried various filters but in the end I liked the basic, straight shot the best. Simple Winter Scene

I stopped at a store today and saw this coin operated horse peaking out from the corner. The original straight shot was nice but I thought it needed a little something extra. I processed in PSE6 with Topaz Adjust for slight detail enhancement then added some Shadowhouse Creations textures to liven up the gray background. Pentax K20D, DA55-300 No Riders on the Painted…

While in a bookstore today, I saw these small ceramic owls in the gift/decor area of the store. I liked how they were grouped and thought they would make a cute picture. Well, they were cute until I processed the photo in black and white. All of a sudden they took on a sinister appearance. Processed in PSE6 with Nik Silver Efex. Camera…

Rickenbackers and the blues

A couple of years ago I owned a Rickenbacker 370 guitar. The  model 370 is essentially a model 360 with an added middle pickup. I bought it new at my local dealer, Guitar Gallery. I’ve always liked Rickenbackers. I thought they were cool, unique, and well-made guitars. Although I always liked the Jetglo (black) finish guitars, this particular one was finished in…

I tried experimenting today with macro by reversing my Super-Takumar 28mm lens on my K20D. The only problem was I don’t have a proper reversing ring and I was handholding the lens over the mount. Hard to do at such close range and it allowed light leaks. I was close on a few but most were pretty bad. After that failed…

I’ve seen this old Lincoln before and thought that I would get a picture of it someday. The snow added a nice element so I thought  I would give it a try today. It’s right behind a locked gate so I had to hold the camera over the fence and shoot blindly. I like the unusual perspective. Processed in PSE6…

A little snow

Had a little more snow fall last night. I went out to shovel the walks and liked how the morning sun was shining on my porch steps. I thought I would try a few abstracts. All with K20D, DA17-70

Today’s pic. With about an inch of snow on the ground, I went the cliche shot route. I added a few of the SkeletalMess textures and converted to b&w with Nik Silver Efex. Pentax K20D, DA17-70mm
