It wasn’t planned at all but I was able to get a few more autumn photos shot at the last minute, literally. It was a rainy day yesterday when I took these photos and the colors just seemed to pop as I drove through the rural countryside. But the heavy rain continued throughout the night and today was a whole different picture. The rain finally stopped this morning but the wind kept blowing and as I looked around this afternoon I noticed that almost all of the leaves are gone. The trees were stripped bare. We are now entering the “brown period”, when the colors fade to brown, the soil turns to mud, and I start thinking about shooting black and white.
