On a windy spring day (get ready for more)

Well spring is finally poking its head out around here. I think it is more than welcome by most in this area after the way too long winter. Of course one of the first signs of spring, besides the robins which I think hang around all year anyway, are the blossoms on the trees. Since the spring blossom season is…

Classic?

I don’t know what a half drunk case of Classic Coke has to do with antiques, but there it was!

fence

I seriously cannot think of anything to talk about lately. I am sorry about that, although I don’t think anyone comes here to read anything. ūüėČ With that, I present a couple wire fence shots. Careful, don’t get pricked.

Bibokehcycle

Just a couple of shots¬†of a colorful bicycle I spotted while walking around the Southside today. Speaking of “bokeh”, I do like to throw the word around on occasion, and so do many others. I don’t want to try to define the word because there have been many discussions about the topic all over the web, but I think the…

Taking a break

With my focus for the next few days being on the Christmas holiday, I’ll be taking a break from the blog.¬†¬†I doubt if I’ll get out in the next couple of days to take any meaningful photos anyhow so I won’t bore you with second-rate¬†images. OK make that third-rate, since most of my work lately has been second-rate. I’ll probably…

I went to the cemetery expecting to shoot black and white

But after I got home and reviewed the images I found that a majority of them worked better in color. Maybe it was because it was nearing sunset and the light was nice or maybe¬† because I just wasn’t seeing the textures I was expecting. Either way it was a decent shoot considering I spent barely a half hour there.…

Ghosts of the machine…….NOW with bokeh!

How about a few shots of what was a piece of construction machinery that burned up? The machine was hauled away but some debris remained. Melted glass (in a nice aqua color, I might add), burnt rubber, and steel. And while we are at it, who can’t resist bokeh? Everybody loves it! So when you add bokeh to trash it…

More window watching

Since my last post went over like a lead balloon, I guess I have no choice but to continue posting. Eventually I’ll get it right. Of course some interesting¬†photography would help but, alas, I have none. I am not worried, I shall prevail and¬†soon I will be gracing these pages with works of the highest caliber. Until then, please enjoy…

Just testing the Leica Summilux 25mm f1.4

I got my hands on a Leica¬†Summilux 25mm 1:1.4 lens for my GX1 and I’m giving it a go for a few days. It sure has exceptional image quality, super sharp – even wide open,¬†although I don’t think I’m going to do it any real justice by just shooting around town. I can think of a few scenarios where this…

365-357 Happy holidays

My first day off of work before¬†Christmas and I spent most of it sitting in traffic near the malls! Throw in a dark and gloomy rainy day and I couldn’t even take a decent picture if I tried. And I didn’t try. After sleeping in way too late and then trying to get around town for some errands before hitting…
