We are getting a little more snow today in southwest PA. Driving around town I spotted this railing and snow-covered steps in front of a church. I thought I would try a little more “normal” shot today. I was thinking black and white when I shot it, visualizing a high contrast “abstract” street type shot. I’m not sure if I succeeded…

A few more shots from yesterday
Just posting a few more shots I did yesterday. All of these photos seem like they were taken in a rurual area. Actually, this is a farm in the middle of an upscale suburban neighborhood, right across the street from a large shopping mall. I did various processing on the photos, using what I thought was best for the shots.…

Winter around here just seems to lend itself to textural photos. Everything is a bit drab. Nature is idle, just waiting for new life in spring. I have to thank SkeletalMess again for the textures. I don’t have the stock or inclination to make my own just yet. Pentax K20D, DA17-70 Branch

Experimenting with macro again. I took even more pictures of ice today but tried to avoid selecting yet another ice shot for my 365. The “moon” in this shot is actually a small crystal “switch”, about 3-4mm in size, on a small 4″ glass electric guitar figurine. The “stars” are, of course, dust! Shot with my 28mm Super-Takumar lens reverse mounted and Sunpak flash.…

Watching too much playoff football this weekend (go Steelers!) instead of finding photo subjects. I’m still holding off taking a picture of my coffee though. Out to the porch and captured some ice hanging from the downspout. There’s a bit of a creepy face in there somewhere at least. Pentax K20D, DA17-70 Center Ice
Guitar Pics – moving camera technique
Just thought I would post another picture I took today that I like. I have a large glass that’s full of guitar pics of various size, thickness and materials. They add a lot of tonal options on both acoustic and electric guitar. This is a long exposure where basically I framed the shot, snapped the shutter and moved the camera…

I didn’t really find much to work with today. I got up late, only went to the grocery store and didn’t see much on my way there and back. My wife has a large collection of angel items and I shot this with my Super-Takumar 50mm. Nik b&w conversion, layers to return gold to angel and finally a SkeletalMess texture to add…

I received a reversing ring, that I plan on using with my Takumars, in the mail today. Just trying some macros around the house. Too lazy to set up a tripod (which now I realize will be necessary), I was using high ISO settings in the low light. The colors were in this shot of a fork but I added multiple texture…

A pretty straightforward shot today of a nice winter scene. I saw these brightly colored houses previously and thought they would make a nice photo. Simple processing with PSE6. I tried various filters but in the end I liked the basic, straight shot the best. Simple Winter Scene
My 365 project
Welcome to my new blog. I hope you enjoy visiting often. I’ll start off with showing a few pictures from a 365 photo project I’m attempting for 2011 that I started on January 1st. I hope I can keep it up. I’m going to try to be creative somewhat and not simply show facets of my daily life. I’ll also try…
