365-92 Well, I could tell that they was mine…

…from the oil and gasoline – ZZ Top “Blue Jean Blues”

I spotted this glove in a picture I took the other day of the oil tanks and knew I had to try to get a picture of it. I went out today specifically to shoot it and I just beat a heavy rain by seconds after I got the shot. The area was kind of dark so I had to up the ISO to 800. I would rather have shot it at ISO 100 to capture as much detail as possible but that would have required a tripod and considering I was taking the shot with one foot on a broken old mattress, it would have been difficult to set up a tripod. I have been considering throwing one of those larger Gorillapods in my truck for the few occasions I think it would come in handy. I went with a color version for my 365 shot because I liked the oily sheen but I’m throwing in a black and white version also.  Pentax K20D, DA17-70

I like the color version better just because the tones are so muted to begin with. Great idea to go back specifically to shoot it.

Awesome, this is right up my street. I too like the colour one. So oily, so grungy, beautiful.
