One thing I like to do sometimes is look at photos I have taken at or near 100% and see if I can find pictures within the picture. When I come across what could be a potential composition I have to decide if a crop is viable or if I have to try a re-shoot. A re-shoot isn’t always possible if it’s a fleeting subject or if it’s just physically impossible to get the closer view. In yesterdays photo of the boat I thought the window in the background building with the fan in it had potential and obviously a crop was out of the question so I went out and shot a closer photo of only the window. I like it and am glad I took the time to try a re-shoot. There is a lot of texture and subtle color there! It was a little high up the building and although I couldn’t find a vantage point at the same level I was able to get a shot from far enough back where I didn’t get too bad of a tilt that couldn’t be corrected.
