It’s been a long evening. After going out to shoot some dusk photos and then heading back to the hotel after dinner I realized the batteries in my wireless mouse were dead. As I mentioned in a previous post, trying to process photos on a laptop without a real mouse isn’t an easy experience. So I ran over to Wal-Mart because it was too late to go anywhere else. Wal-Mart isn’t my favorite place to go in the first place – I actually avoid going there, especially during peak times, unless it’s a last resort or the only alternative. Well tonight was both so I braved it out. It was amazingly busy and it took me almost 20 minutes to buy a pack of batteries. Crazy, considering the batteries and the checkouts are right by the door!
Well, with new batteries in the mouse I began to go through my photos to decide which one will be the 365 shot. Sometimes I know right away and simply process that shot and I’m done. Other times, like tonight, I process a few photos and see which one grabs my attention. I can go through a lot of photos doing that and waste a lot of time also. I wasted too much time tonight so I had to pick one and I picked…….bridges! I decided to go with the river shot since it was more site specific and this is my last night in Charleston before heading home tomorrow. It beat out my other contenders; dead leaves and chalky walks. All with Pentax K20D and DA 55-300, DA 17-70 (walk).

And the runner-ups
I nice set of photos–like the diagonal lines and color of the bridges.
Thanks. I like the perspective also and the color is a nice change from the normal, IMO.
i love the image of the leaves…nice tone and texture.
Thanks!
