A few months back I asked readers for their opinion on some black and white images I was submitting to a contest. I ended up choosing four images to submit, some being favorites of readers and friends and one being a personal favorite. Well last month I found out that at least one of my images was accepted to be featured in the Black & White Magazine 2013 Single Image Contest special issue #95, which is on newsstands now. Well, newsstands that sell that kind of magazine, and in the USA it’s most likely limited to the larger bookstores such as Barnes & Noble and……uhm, yeah, just them.
The image selected wasn’t my favorite but it was one that I certainly liked. The magazine picks the category and this one was placed in the Metaphor/Abstract category, a category which a number of my photos could easily fall in, if you were able to categorize them at all. Either way, I am quite pleased to see the image published and I have to admit it looks good. It actually looks better in print than it does on my PC screen.
Making it into the issue out of thousands of entries is quite an honor and I am going to try to keep up the momentum for the coming year by entering more competitions and submitting to more publications. And of course trying to perfect my craft.
And here is the winning photo which you can find on page 218:
Well done. Great achievement
