Minimal reptile

I’m going to take a break from color and go dark. Real dark. This is what you do when you can’t get a close-up of an alligator (the not long enough lens thing). So to make the best of it I went simple and graphic. Does it work? Eh, I don’t know.

This is one of the shots where I wanted a longer lens with me. I have had telephoto zooms in the past and they worked well for me but I never got around to buying another one and I kind of miss having one. Even though I lean towards wider angle images, a good telephoto comes in handy sometimes, not only for shots like this when you want to get a little closer but also the compression works great for abstracts on architecture and such. But I am holding out for a faster, better quality lens and the cost is putting me off some.
