365-289 Passing by

I must have passed by this barn a zillion times in my travels. It sits along a four-lane road in the middle of commercial and residential developments. I assume eventually it will disappear so I thought I should get a photo before it’s too late. The lighting seemed nice today and I was able to easily get a photo. I…

365-257 Greetings from West Virginia

I thought a postcard post title is apt for my postcardy image today. I saw these gas pumps yesterday and kept them in my mind for a future subject. But today as I was driving by the owner of the property, Sue Moore, was outside chatting with a friend so I asked if I could take a  few photos. She was…

365-195 Another visit to the fairgrounds

I thought I would visit the local fairgrounds again today. I was able to explore a little before preparations begin for the annual county fair next month. I decided to only use my Super-Takumar 50mm lens on my Pentax K20D. I am also still experimenting with Nik Color Efex so I am using it often before the trial runs out. Enjoy! Click on…

I got a few pictures of the cows before the sun hid behind the hills. Both shots are simple portraits so I don’t have much to add technically. Pentax K20D, DA55-300. Rural…

365-113 Green acres

Just a simple pastoral scene today. The sheep kept running away from me no matter where I went. I was on the side of a fairly busy rural road and the cars fly by fast, so I had hesitations on shooting and worked quick. Not the photo I had in my head when I was shooting but it’s OK, I…

365-13

A rural looking winter scene today. It’s actually beside a fairly well traveled road. There’s no where to pull over so I had to stop, shoot, and go. I originally was thinking this as a black and white with texture but I liked the colors better. I used some slightly modified Shadowhouse Creations textures. Pentax K20D, DA17-70 The Rising
