Yellow can be a bright cheerful color, especially after a drab winter. I didn’t head out to shoot yellow, or any other color, today. It’s still raining for the second day and I really didn’t feel like walking around and getting soaking wet so I tried to find subjects from my car. I took a shot of reflections while waiting for traffic at the post office and the I took a quick drive around downtown. I thought I’ve shot all there is to shoot there the past couple months but it was worth a try. I turned up an alley I don’t normally go through and found a nice brightly painted dumpster area behind a building. A nice colorful find when things are so dull. I was able to park nearby and take a few shots in the pouring rain. I did get a little wet but I didn’t mind since I had something to shoot. My Pentax camera is weatherproof, so it was fine also. Just wiped off the water when I got back in the car. All with Pentax K20D and Da17-70

Yellow Lines
So you consider your setup weatherproof even though the 17-70 isn’t WR?
Yeah, I know that, but it does seal at the body. I wouldn’t stay out all day with it but lenses don’t have as many places where water can “settle”, in my opinion at least. I would love a WR version because I like the range over the 16-50 and I haven’t seen enough on the 18-135 yet. Plus, I don’t like giving up too much on the wide end. A WR16-85 F4 would be ideal for me.
