My wife and I were in a strip mall parking lot and had to wait out a heavy rainstorm while sitting in my truck. Well, we didn’t really have to wait it out because we had nothing we needed to do anyhow ;-). But I didn’t feel like driving through the thunderstorm, so we hung out and enjoyed a Starbucks. While waiting, I looked around for some photo opportunities because nasty weather is always a good thing to add drama to a shot, but being in a suburban shopping center my choices were limited for anything dynamic. I tried to capture just some rain using my Super-Takumar 50mm wide open at F1.4, but that didn’t work too well. Even shooting at 1/2000 sec., I couldn’t freeze the rain motion. Second attempt for a photo was the backup “impressionistic” shot through a rain-soaked windshield. That photo, of some distant lights and trees and taken with my DA55-300, turned out well enough to become my 365 shot for today. Enjoy!

Thanks Justin, loving your work also. It’s pretty crazy that we both have fiberglass pictures! Hope you don’t get bored with the daily posts this year. I can at least promise more ups than downs ;-)!
