…you shoot nothing.
The lighting this afternoon was incredible. After the rain cleared there were still dramatic clouds and coupled with the late afternoon sun it was simply beautiful. That would all be cool if I lived in the shadows of a nice mountain range or the desert southwest and I could capture some sweeping landscape shot. Instead I was heading out to the grocery store ;-(. I took this shot from my back porch looking over some neighboring houses as I was heading out. I had hoped I would find a better photo while I was out but didn’t really come across anything. So, I hoped for the best and dumped the photos into my computer to see what I could come up with. The color was nice, but the black and white shot kind of made the rooftop on the left less noticeable so I went with that. I added a pinkish split-tone to jazz it up a little. Whew, that’s a lot of explaining for a shot. I really need to focus on the photography again.
Spring in Black and White
Very nice – I like your choice of colors for the split toning!
Thanks, I’m glad you like it. I thought just a hint of color would keep it from being to stark.
