So here I am in the hills of West Virginia this week and I thought for sure I would easily be able to get a picture of an old abandoned car or truck sitting in a field. Instead everything is kind of neat and tidy, Granted I am in the state capital area and trying not to stray too far from civilization. I have to resist the urge to see what’s up that gravel road. Still, within those limitations, I thought there would be old junk everywhere. Not so.
I did find todays subject by accident on a windy road leading to a state forest. It was an odd trip through various lifestyles. At the top of the hill I was driving through affluent suburbs full of large houses and passing BMW’s and Mercedes. As I got into the valley, the road got rougher and the houses turned into little shacks. Old cars and pickup trucks were the norm down here. Ah, living in America. So I found this old Dodge sitting near, what appears to be, an abandoned garage. Nothing much else around it. I passed it up to go see the forest but decided the light was getting low and I better get a shot in. I was able to park and quickly grab a few photos. Snapshots, basically. I would have liked to get some more detail shots because the car has a nice patina, but it was just too dark in the valley. Maybe tomorrow. Pentax K20D, DA 17-70
