Sigh, these low uncreative periods are tough to weather through. Maybe not so much for you, the viewer, but I find them rough. I like when I have ideas in my head of where to go, what to shoot, and how to shoot it. Life is good then, photographically speaking. But in times like this I am like a zombie, walking around aimlessly, camera extended out, chanting “must get picture” as I walk into a wall. Alright it’s not that bad, but sometimes I feel better when I can at least squeeze an image out at the end of the day. This basketball hoop photo ended up exactly like I imagined, so I’m kind of good for today. The hoop is in the city park and by the looks of it doesn’t get used (or maintained) too often. At least it has a net, unlike the next one over. The lack of kids simply playing in the park is alarming. Sure there are organized little league games but other than that you don’t really see kids in the park. No bike riding, no pickup games, no Frisbee, no playing catch, no catching bugs. Nothing. Pretty sad. Pentax K20D, DA55-300.

Hoop Dreams
A very lonely mood photo, but it kinda looks like a character winking, alien-like. Yes, it alarming not to see kids playing in a park. I have so many chubby kids in my primary school class-that’s alarming too.
Thanks. An alien backboard? Could be!
