It’s also my wife’s birthday, so that makes for a nice day together! I had another day off of work, which was sort of unexpected. Good thing too, because my lawn was way overdue for a mowing. Ooh, fun stuff. Happy birthday! We did get to have dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant though and on the way spotted this industrial building catching the late afternoon light. Right up my alley! Pentax K20D, DA55-300.
As an aside, I’m really not liking how my photos look on the page. WordPress compression makes them look really flat and unsharp. I’m thinking of going to a full width layout to maximize the photo size. Any ideas will be much appreciated. Until then, don’t forget to click on the pics to see them in all of their glory.

Happy birthday to you both! 🙂 Two libras married to each other. Oh my. 🙂 I really like these photos. I agree with how the photos look in WordPress. Wish that didn’t happen. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks. We’re the same yet quite different. I hate to get rid of the sidebar but the photos should get top billing.
Happy Birthday to you both. I will post back in a moment with a theme suggestion. I almost switched to it, and still may give it a shot.
Okay, so last week I browsed some of the newer themes for wordpress.com blogs. One that I almost switched to is called Comet and has an option for no sidebars that is 900 pixels wide. However, in finding the name of this theme just now, there is a very cool new theme specifically for photoblogs that either 1024 pixels wide in “photoblog” format, or a narrower but still wide 768 pixels in the “blog” setting. You can preview the Nishita theme here:

I may give it a shot myself since it’s brand new…
Thanks Nathan. That looks like an interesting theme. I may try it. I’ll wait until I have a dazzling photo and surprise everyone 😉 I don’t seem to have enough time (or simply forget) to search for new options so I appreciate the tip.
The only thing I didn’t like about it is that it looked like the comment boxes also end up being really wide. I haven’t actually tried it though, so I hope that’s not the case.
And what’s wrong with the way these pictures look……?? Your photos make WordPress look flat….
Love the “blue and red” one!
These photos are incredible! My favorites are old buildings, anything rustic, and botanicals.
I know what you mean about the WordPress compression. Kind of disappointing after the time spent in post processing. I don’t want to give up the sidebar, so for now I will continue to mention “click to enlarge”.
