I like it when I get a photo nice and early in the day. It’s a calm relaxing feeling knowing that I don’t have to look at everything in a photographic way or go exploring after work. I arrived at work this morning and like recent mornings it was still dark out. Though unlike recent mornings the sky had some nice bold color as the sun was attempting to rise. Since a front was moving in, the clouds were somewhat dramatic adding a nice touch. I didn’t want to simply take a photo of the sky so I thought the powerline tower would make a nice subject. Since it was still dark enough to require a 1.5-2 second exposure and I didn’t have anything to brace the camera on, I went with an intentional camera movement shot. That was about it. One shot and I moved on. I was good. Of course the sun never really made an appearance today. It stayed cloudy with off and on rain but that was fine. Pentax K20D, DA17-70

Really nice, David! I like the movement and unusual color.
love the deep color!….I am not a professional photographer, so I have to ask, did you add the color, or is it from the longer exposure?
I am thinking about the same question too!
The color is close to the original scene. The camera enhanced the blues a little with the long exposure. I played around with contrast during processing but not too much as it was already a saturated scene and I didn’t want to lose the gradations between colors.
Beautiful!
