No worms but I did manage to find a photo relatively early today. I was traveling on the highway again and stopped at a rest area. As soon as I parked I spotted a truck driver sitting on a bench with his traveling companion on his shoulder. I don’t usually find colorful birds at the rest areas so I asked if I could snap a few photos. He happily obliged and I was able to get some nice portraits out of the shoot. Unfortunately the trucker had to go, I had to go, and I never got their names. I’m a lousy journalist ;-( Pentax K20D, DA55-300.

Although I did manage to get a few keeper shots, I made the mistake of leaving my camera on auto-ISO which resulted in lower ISO’s and the subsequent slower shutter speeds. I should have pumped up the ISO a little, or simply switched to shutter priority, to get some faster shutter speeds because this bird would not sit still. Always ducking behind his wings and twisting his head around. I ended up with too many blurry photos than I care for, especially since a few of them had some nice compositions. I would like to say lesson learned, but I’ve done the same thing in the past and I’ll probably do it again. 😦
My dad has become a crazy bird man in the past decade. Actually so has my mom. I refuse to take pictures of them with their birds, but your pics are quite nice. Phenomenal birds really…
