Had some time to take a few quick shots around town today. I processed these with a warm vintage color look mostly because it seemed to work with the first shot, so I kept with the consistency for the rest. During processing, I went back and forth between color and black and white for these and I still think the B&W is stronger for a few of them. But I’ve been quite enamored with color lately so that was my final choice. I’ll post some of the black and whites on Flickr so you can check them out there. I was traveling light so all were taken with the Pentax K20D and DA18-135.

I love these, David! So rich with texture. I can’t resist rust and peeling paint. Your compositions create lots of interest.
Thank you Karen. I’m with you, I love the texture you find in rust and peeling paint. When you zero in on these details it’s a whole world of interest that most people pass right by.
nice city decay photo! love it.
I love this series, Dave, especially the lock with the red wood.
Thanks. That was one of the shots I thought worked better in B&W but my wife insisted she liked the red wood texture, so guess what won out? 🙂
