I don’t have a cat

I had a whole diatribe planned on how folks buy a Nikon D800 or equivalent camera along with an equally expensive lens only to take pictures of their cat, but I decided not to. It’s a holiday here in the USA and I don’t want to be a sour “puss” 🙂

So here is a cat photo that I took yesterday. My wife and I were taking an after dinner stroll through the Mexican War Streets in Pittsburgh, enjoying the old architecture and I spotted this cat in the window of one of the row houses. I first noted that the room was dark because I didn’t want to be poking my camera into a window while someone was sitting in their living room! I grabbed a couple quick shots, including a straight on one, but I liked this one better where it’s looking away from the camera. I was shooting into the window so there are lots of reflections which, in my opinion, add to the shot.

Hey…are you talkin’ to me? Willing models, that’s what they are. 😉

And then you go ahead and shoot a tortie! Ha!

(Torties are the bestest kittehs in the whole wide world)

LOL, nothing personal. I think cats are way more photogenic than other animals. I just need to stop reading gear forums and focus on the photography instead. And you are right – it was a willing model ( a dog would have left or just started barking)

I did a quick perusal of my blog and I realized I hadn’t shot my cats in about three weeks! Whew!

        That’s a long time, I think you’re safe. 🙂
