Back tracking

In a fit of nothing better to do, I went through some of my old photo files with a hopefully fresh look at some of my past work. I like to do that on occasion just to see if I missed something the first time around, or perhaps see if I can process a photo a different direction from what I originally did. Todays photo falls into the latter category.

I took this photo of a cat that was sitting in a store holiday window display last Christmas Eve and at that time I processed the color photo and posted it, along with some other photos, as part of my 365 project. Viewing it again I happened to zoom in a little and liked how the photo looked when I eliminated the background and was left with nothing but fur in the photo. I immediately thought that a high contrast black and white conversion would make the photo even more abstract. Considering I did lose a little resolution from the crop, I still like the end result, finding it a bit whimsical.
