Day number 6 of rain on my vacation so I thought a nice diversion would be to visit the Phipps Conservatory and enjoy a little color….while staying dry of course. The tropical “rain” forest wasn’t too inviting 😉 but all in all it was a nice place to enjoy some different scenery and exotic plant life.
Photography-wise I just took the Pentax K-30 and a slowish 18-135 zoom with me. A lot of the rooms aren’t too bright, especially with the gray cloudy skies, so I had to use high ISO’s most of the time. The camera performed quite well in that kind of environment, I’m glad to say. I knew from my previous visits there that faster lenses and a good macro lens are almost essential for quality photos but since I really own neither I went with what I had. Maybe next time.
Here area few quick pics. I’ll post a few more as I run them through the processor (knocks on head)!
really like those lanterns! beautiful vibrant colours
Thanks Chloe. I found them a bright spot on an otherwise dreary week.
