Sticks

In my never-ending quest to get out and purposely do more photography I have been failing miserably. Between work and just general household time I haven’t been able to make a day of just shooting and it’s been frustrating me. As a guitar player I know that the more I play, the better I get. The same goes for photography. Without getting out there and practising the craft I feel like I’m not doing myself any good.

Throw in some incredibly rainy miserable weekends and the window of opportunity dwindles even more. I don’t mind the rain so much ( and I do have a weatherproof camera) when I  have a specific subject or place to photograph because the rain may even enhance the photo. Getting photos when nobody else is even thinking about can yield great rewards. But to just go out exploring with no particular place to go the dark rainy days aren’t too inviting.

Hopefully my Christmas week vacation will allow me to get out and shoot. And I would like it to be cold and even snowy instead of rain. I want to make it into the city for some urban shooting, something I want to practice a little more and as a refreshing change from the rural areas which I have been around a bit too much lately. I mean cows are cool and all but a little street photography never hurts once in a while.

Lovely lighting on the twigs. Nicely spotted.
