Hmm, this scenario has been happening a lot lately: I’m driving down an unfamiliar road looking for photo subjects. I then come to the conclusion that I’m going the wrong way, or not getting anywhere I want, or there isn’t anything of interest to shoot and decide to turn around at the first empty lot. When I turn into the lot, I find a subject or scene right in front of me, usually an old vehicle.
And it happened again today. I wa s exploring a road that runs along a stream thinking I might find some nature photos. After I drove for a while I wanted to check my GPS on my phone to make sure I was where I thought. I pulled into a gravel lot right in front of this bright blue International truck. Thank you very much! I was able to get a few pictures of it before the “guard” discovered my presence (see photo). For todays 365, I went with a pseudo HDR photo for something different. I’m generally not a HDR fan but I think it works best for old vehicles and abandoned building interiors. Other than that I could do without it. I couldn’t resist showing the bold blue color of the truck since it’s what caught my eye in the first place. I rounded out the series with some black and white conversions because I didn’t want to do “Scenes from a blue truck, part deux”. All with Pentax K20D, DA 17-70.

Oh, and here is the “guard” I was talking about:
Basset hounds are so adorable. I wonder if that truck still works.
