365-302 Just a 365

I’ve been in a little bit of a slump lately, not just artistically but in general also. Life has just been catching up with me and I let it. I just have to make some changes soon in order to carry on in a more positive way. It’s not any health or family issues, everything is fine in that regard, nor am I depressed or anything, it’s just those “bad decisions”, “heading in the wrong direction” kind of things that tug at you every once in a while. I know where I’ve been lapse and I’m going to seriously work on those areas. Actually nothing really affects my artistic endeavors. I kind of blank things out when I’m doing my photography or playing guitar so they’re kind of therapeutic in a sense.

Now, on to the photo. Todays photo is just a random street shot. Not much from a creative standpoint. We got our first snow of the season overnight. It didn’t amount to much compared to other regions but it was an early snowfall and makes you remember that winter is near…..again. But the snow turned to rain during the day and it was a sloppy, wet day. I didn’t want to slog around outdoors too much so my wife and I just went to the bookstore and did a little shopping. We saw this little snowman perched on the back of a truck. I grabbed a few quick shots but didn’t seriously think I would use one of them for my 365 shot. Well, nothing else happened and I didn’t shoot any more today so….. guess what?  The snowman is it! Pentax K20D, DA17-70

Well, I like it! It made me chuckle – the title and the arm out of place. I know the ‘slump’ feeling. Finding balance, being true to yourself… can be so hard to achieve.

Yeah, a little humor is always good. Thanks. I’m OK, I get those “waves” on occasion but quickly move on. Maybe it’s because I’ve been working out of town a lot recently.
