Heading out to take care of some business, I thought about going by the usual cemetery to find a photo. Instead I stopped by an old railroad station in town that is now being used for, I assume, storage by a cement company. I took some photos there earlier in the year (365-24) and I didn’t want to repeat those, so I just focused around a couple of windows. Everything is old and quite weathered but there really isn’t anything I would call a “subject” to shoot. I couldn’t find much in the abstract department either so I just shot anything and figured I would sort it out later. I went with a black and white, high contrast and heavy vignette look, mostly to disguise the fact that you are looking at nothing 😉 I hope it works! Pentax K20D, DA17-70

I love high-contrast ‘weathered’ images! Very nice.
Thank you. The contrast certainly enhances the textures.
Old and weathered is delightful! All of these photos are artistically composed. The processing enhances the mood.
Thanks Karen. The beauty of black and white is that it breaks things down into their simplest forms. Couple that with simple subjects and……voila!
Great textures!
