I don’t often show the “big picture” too often, instead focusing on details, but today I thought I would show a nice dawn sky. The color was beautiful from my unobstructed view high on the hill this morning. I usually don’t take too many photos until it gets light enough to handhold the camera, unless I want to intentionally blur a shot, but I didn’t want to miss the nice color and clouds so I quickly set up my small travel tripod and took a few snaps before work. Original? No. Creative? Not really. Just plain nice? Absolutely. Pentax K20D DA18-135
Kiss the Sky
And speaking of the sky, birds fly in the sky. So naturally I’ll throw in this other photo from today of some birds. I played around with the color balance a little just for kicks. An added bit of purple haze.
Meet the Flockers
Finally, because I think it’s a nice photo, some leaves. This photo is somewhat similar to some other late fall details I’ve done recently so that’s why it didn’t make the 365 cut. Otherwise, I like it.
It’s tough sometimes picking a daily photo when I shoot such a variety of subjects during the day. That’s the beauty of having my blog because I can just post all of them! I guess the normal thing would be to stick with a similar style of photography throughout the year but seriously, is that any fun?
good stuff i love reading your posts and the pictures are fantastic

What type of birds were those?
Have a great day,

I love the title of the bird shot “Meet the Flockers” hahaha Great sunrise also!
I absolutely love the shot of the birds.
and the colour in the 3rd one, gorgeous!
I love that photo of the birds – the colour choice is fabulous!
Thanks. I’m at a point where I really like alternative color processes.
