I honestly haven’t been spending much time shooting lately and I feel a little bad about it. I’ve been focusing on my house and assorted other life things so I haven’t really had the time to just go out and take photos. Oh I take my camera with me as much as possible because, you know, “just in case” but as far as actually stopping and seeking out shots, no, I’ve just been kind of lazy. And it shows. Looking at some of the work I did last year, I could see the photos I took when I just made the extra effort to go out to shoot. There were days where I literally had nothing in mind to shoot but I still pushed myself until I found something of interest, sometimes out of desperation since I had to get a shot for my 365. Granted circumstances and locations did play a big part in that, but I do have more free time this year so I really need to take advantage of it and push myself to just shoot something.
In the mean time I’ll let you enjoy a photo I did do recently just to show where my creativity has been lately. Yes, it’s a rusty hasp on a port-a-john door! By now you probably are thinking, “yes David, pleeeease go out and push yourself some more!”.
