365-294 Make a note

One of those days where I didn’t feel like heading out for a photo. I got to enjoy playing my guitar today and just relaxing. So instead of looking for a subject I thought I would make one. It’s a rare event that I try still life photos, mostly because I lack any proper “studio” gear. Regardless I decided to see if I could try some abstracts using a pad of Post-It notes. It’s not an original idea,  I’ve seen other work using them but  it’s all I had lying around that I could manipulate in different ways. I at first tried natural light, using my studio approved ceiling light, but later experimented with my old Sunpak flash unit that I haven’t used since it was attached to my Mamiya 330 twin lens reflex. I had to do trial and error exposure settings but the flash helped a lot. Even though I originally wanted to show color I went with a black and white image for my 365 because it seems even more abstract. Kind of reminds me of my window blind photo I did back in February (365-54). Anyhow, I had a little fun and I hope you like them. Pentax K20D, DA17-70, Super-Takumar 50mm
