I had an unexpected work assignment in Wheeling today and on my way there I swung by the small town of West Alexander. I had visited the town previously for photos and I can usually find something of interest there. Although the old houses were nicely decorated for Christmas, I at first was going to get some architecture shots but instead I focused on an old gas station that I took previous 365 photos at. I saw these Coke bottles in the window and did my best to obscure my reflection in the glass when taking the shot. I added a heavy vignette during processing to further reduce my silhouette. Real Thing
And what goes better with Coke than some ice? I saw this burned ice machine at a convenience store I used to visit when I was working in the Wheeling area a few months ago. I liked the colors and patterns in it but it was always too dark or too busy in the mornings, when I stopped for coffee, to get a good shot. Today, on the other hand, I was there late in the morning and the light was bright and the business was slow so I was easily able to get a picture.
